The bitter battle between Sovereign Asset Management, a traditionally low profile Monaco-based investment fund, and the company's family-dominated management came to a head at the South Korea's corporation. For the international investors, the failure of the bid by foreign shareholders to effect management changes at South Korea's corporation marks a major set back for corporate reform in Korea.
