Southampton from a professional's perspective
Article Abstract:
The corporate finance market in Southampton, UK, has developed considerably since its small beginnings in the 1980s, and many professional firms now have larger and stronger corporate finance operations there. Southampton is now the regional corporate finance centre for leading firms including Ernst & Young, KPMG, Touche Ross and Price Waterhouse. However, 3i is still the only local equity provider and as such dominates the market. Recent trends in the Southampton region include the appearance of 'MBOs of MBOs', where funds set up in the late 1980s now want to realise their investments.
