Sir Basil Spence was one of the last practitioners of architecture as an emotional and romantic art. There was a disparity in the level of personal attention he gave to different projects, and he operated three distinct practices. He collaborated with Hardy Glover on the Mortonhall Crematorium in Edinburgh completed in 1966, and other work included the sussex University Meeting House.

Anthony Hill believes that art done on scientific analysis are persuasive, he worked with relief, geometry, mirror reflections and synthetic materials.

Margaret Mellis: Paintings and Reliefs 1968-1978

An exhibition of Margaret Mellis's paintings and work dated between 1968 and 1978 would be held at Austin/Desmond Fine Art, London until July 2, 2005. The exhibited works are from the second abstract geometric or 'Constructive' phase in Mellis's long career.
