Split decision
Article Abstract:
Canada's magazine and advertising community is divided on the merit of the US-Canada agreement on so-called split-run editions, according to an online poll conducted by Marketing Magazine. The agreement allows foreign publishers to sell a certain amount of ad space to advertisers targerting Canadian consumers without publishing a separate Canadian edition. The survey found that 42% of respondents think the agreement is a negative development for the Canadian industry, while 40% think it is a positive one.
