Squids in: the Falklands
Article Abstract:
Since the Falklands War, the Falkland Islands has enjoyed amazing economic growth. Britain has taken better care of it's protectorate, and the squid industry has brought in licensing fees to the government coffers. The prospect of the discovery of petroleum may help the economy, or bring ecological disaster.

Article Abstract:
Colombia's new-found petroleum reserves have a better chance of benefitting the whole economy than those in Mexico or Venezuela, because of steadier growth and liberalized trade policy. Political and drug-related violence remains the main deterrent to foreign investment.
