Sri Lanka's tigers on the prowl
Article Abstract:
Many Tamil rebels have been killed or maimed in Sri Lanka in recent months. Some sympathizers of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) too have been assassinated recently. This has prompted Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of LTTE to issue an ultimatum to the president Mahinda Rajapaksa to come up with a workable peace plan at the earliest. It may be recalled that Rajapaksa came to power after promising a permanent peace settlement with LTTE.
