Article Abstract:
The Polish government is unsatisfied with a treaty which requires Russia to withdraw most of its troops from Poland. Polish officials were given little time to evaluate the treaty, and some felt that it should have condemned the suffering caused by Stalinism.

Poland's rural communities offer a stark contrast to its modern cities, with average farm wages equalling only 40% of urban wages. Farmers in the east are particularly badly off. Better education could improve the life of Poles in rural areas.
