Article Abstract:
The Hong Kong Cricket Association is seeking to make cricket more popular among Hong Kong's Chinese population. It realises that this will play a vital role in ensuring that China grants playing areas for cricket in Hong Kong in the future. There are now 23 schools taking part in the Hong Kong Cricket Association programme, of which 10 are Chinese-speaking, and six cricket grounds are used by around 400 young players.

Pakistan's shift to democracy after eight years of military rule is discussed. It is believed that the assassination attempt on Benazir Bhutto is an outcome of this transition. Models that can be used in order to maintain a smooth transition from military rule to democracy are presented.
