European exchanges gobble up each other

European stock exchanges have experienced a series of acquisitions, shrinking the field to three, Deutsche Borse AG, Euronext N.V. and the London Stock Exchange PLC. There is a demand for low-cost trading and smaller volumes that have decreased profits.
