Strategic facility location: a review
Article Abstract:
Existing research on strategic facility location problems that consider either dynamic or stochastic problem characteristics are analyzed. Dynamic problems seek optimal facility locations over a specified time frame while stochastic problems take into account uncertainties in input parameters such as travel times and construction costs. Stochastic problems are also divided into two types, namely, probabilistic and scenario planning models.

Competitive location with rectilinear distances
Article Abstract:
The problem of competitive location among firms that provide goods or services to customers is analyzed. The analysis focuses on the development of mathematical computations that will generate numerical solutions for particular cases. This location problem involving planar rectilinear distances assumes a finite customer number and is also applicable to product selection, political and work allocation models.
