Strategies for success in China's consumer markets
Article Abstract:
Foreign companies consider China a goldmine because of the variety of opportunities offered by its rapidly growing economy. However, not all companies which invest in Chinese consumer markets will succeed and many may even find themselves bankrupt in the end. Analysts believe that the approach to doing business in China is the key to success. They offer three principles to achieve market leadership in Chinese consumer markets. First multinationals should have their own network for sales and distribution. Second, they should create a stable organization structure. Third, companies should focus on achieving long-term rather than short-term results.

Securitization gives one-two punch to China's debt mess
Article Abstract:
Securitization proves to be an effective method in solving China's debt crisis that overwhelmingly affects its state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and state banks. Securitization involves the conversion of debts into securities that can be offered in the open market. Steps that can be used in securitization include creation of a national agency that operates independently but temporarily backed by government credit.
