Sydney Harbour as risky bet: the casino stock may be a gamble, analysts warn
Article Abstract:
Analysts and fund managers warn that Sydney Harbour Casino Holdings stock is a risky venture at current prices. The company's share price closed on Nov. 21, 1996 on the Australian Stock Exchange at A$1.48. So far, it has not been affected by disappointing profits or the announcement that global investor George Soros had trimmed his stake by 50%. At current prices, Sydney Harbour Casino stocks are trading reasonably, but could falter after the casino moves to a permanent site in early 1998. The share price of casinos in Australia usually rise before a move to permanent facilities.
