Article Abstract:
TRW Aeronautical Systems has received a contract from Sikorsky Aircraft Corp to supply a total of 21 winch systems for the CH-60 and export S-70 aircraft within year 2000, with options for up to 70 systems in 2001-2002 and 34 systems in 2003. Required for search and rescue operations, the hydraulic winch has a cable speed of 1.27 m/sec, whereas the controller offers optional night vision compatibility. The contract also covers the supply of hand-held pendant controls and electronic controllers.

CV-22 delivered
Article Abstract:
The first CV-22 Osprey has been delivered to Edwards Air Force Base, CA, on Sep 18, 2000, from the Bell Helicopter Flight Research Center Arlington, TX, where it was converted from an MV-22. From 2001 to 2002, the CV-22 Integrated Test Team, comprised of US Marine Corps, Bell Boeing, Raytheon and USAF personnel, will conduct a rigorous flight test program that will end in Operational Test and Evaluation in aug 2002.
