Tabak (Kutna Hora, Czech Republic), cigarette manufacturer, will decide the payment of dividends from its 1999 profit at a general assembly in April 2000. The firm's net profit increased to more than 2.8 bil Kc in 1999, 20.9% more compared to 1998. Tabak manufactures cigarettes at four plants in the Czech Republic. The company has a 80% share on the domestic cigarette market. It has more than a 75% stake held by Philip Morris (US).

Centex increased its loss in 1999

Centex (Brno, Czech Republic), textile trade company, increased its loss by 30.5 mil Kc to 110.429 mil Kc in 1999 compared to 1998. The company saw proceeds of 259 mil Kc in 1999 compared to 511 mil Kc in 1998. The firm's proceeds have been decreasing since 1996, when it saw proceeds of 1 bil Kc. Centex is focused on retail textile sales.

Ceska Posta increased its profit in 2000

Ceska posta (CP) (Prague, Czech Republic), postal services company, increased its profit to CEK 856 mil in 2000, 28.7% more compared to 1999. Its investments, mainly in the modernization of buildings and post counters, were CEK 976 mil in 2000, 4.4% more compared to 1999. CP delivered 580 mil articles in 2000 compared to 572 mil in 1999.
