Article Abstract:
From 1993, members of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and RIAS will be obliged to participate in a structured programme of continuing professional developement (CPD). Practices will have to implement such programmes to comply with BS5750 Quality Assurance standards. CPD implies a planned approach to professional education with consultation ensuring that courses are relevant to the needs of individuals. The emphasis will be on practical skills and training can take many forms.

The architect who found his own work
Article Abstract:
Architect, Alan Camp build his own house on derelict land in Southwark, London, England. The area was in dire need of a community centre and Camp, together with the Browning Street Tenants Association raised money for its construction. The building is light and welcoming, build of traditional materials. It houses a community hall and day nursery. Camp is working on a development of houses and workshops which will be sold to raise some of the money for the community centre.
