Tim Morris of Revisuisse Price Waterhouse recommends that expatriates in Switzerland should avail of the services of a tax consultant for at least the first two tax years. He says that a foreigner working in Switzerland without a permanent residence permit is liable to at-source tax, but there are also several exceptions to the rule. He further advises expatriates to consider cantonal or municipal income tax rates and conditions before deciding where to settle.
