Gauging the target market of a potential merger or acquisition firm can be difficult for management teams dealing with acquisition deals. Target information is a time consuming part of the process and many firms are using the services of business research consultants. Results may vary according to the amount of understanding the consultant has of the process of acquisitions. Decision making is greatly helped by applying the process of market due diligence when assessing information.

Knowledge management provides a smarter approach
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness and productivity of models used to analyse a potential transaction can be improved with knowledge management. Although there are various approaches to knowledge management, including development of modelling methodologies and subsequent training and shared storing of past models, it is argued that the development of a library of common modelling components is most beneficial.
