Teacher's pet
Article Abstract:
The American Federation of Teachers, and the National Educational Association are labor unions for teachers, and have strong links to the Democratic party. Labor unions are seeing a drop in membership in the US, but this is not the case for teachers' labor uniuons, which have seen membership numbers increase. Al Gore, Democratic presidential candidate, can gain access to information on educational issues, and the party can make use of teachers' unions' personnel and premises. Both the unions and Al Gore oppose school voucher schemes.
