Technological asymmetry and joint product development
Article Abstract:
The relationship between joint product development undertakings and the degree of asymmetry of the technology used is analyzed. Results show that there exists a direct positive link between the variation in technological developments and the success of joint research efforts if an absolute viewpoint is adopted. On the other hand, the relationship works inversely if a relativistic standpoint is used.
