Multinational corporations move east: the road to China
Article Abstract:
Multinational corporations face many challenges when trying to conduct business in China. Despite economic reforms aimed at increasing e management's control over companies, Chinese businesses still suffer from an inefficient materials allocation system, government labor policies, and an inefficient transportation system. Transnational strategic alliances offer an alternative to traditional joint ventures for foreign companies. The alliances allow companies to earn a return on their technological and marketing expertise without risking corporate assets in China.

Offset requirements: US companies react to escalating demands
Article Abstract:
Purchasers of US military equipment in Europe, Japan and the Nics have made increasingly expensive demands for offset programs aimed at co-production and co-development in high tech areas.
