The EU budget for 2004
Article Abstract:
The European Union budget for the financial year 2004 was adopted after the 'trialogue' between the European Commission, the Council and the European Parliament. The expenditure on Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) was the category that had largest spending, which was lowered in 2004 when compared with 2003 and there was a shift of CAP spending to rural development.

Article Abstract:
The aim of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) was to achieve sustainable farming, which is called as 'the European Model of Agriculture' within the European Union's financial framework to 2013. However there is an imbalance, whereby 80 percent of CAP expenditure goes to 20 percent of the farms.
