The German market for eyewear
Article Abstract:
The German eyewear retail market, which consists of sunglasses, spectacles and control lenses which include after care products, declined in 1996. The disposable income, insurance pay-outs and in consumer expenditure greatly influenced the decline. Since the income in German household declined, consumers put more importance to functionality and quality over fashion and brands in buying eyewear products. The greater expectations of consumers have made opticians and eyewear manufacturers come up with high-quality products at affordable prices.
