The burgers sector of the fast food market in Spain is expected to retain its dominance with value sales of Ptas58.2 billion in 1997 and Ptas89.7 billion in year 2002. The pizzas sector is expected to rank in second place with sales of Ptas53.1billion in 1997 and Ptas83.9 billion in 2002, while fast food chains under the others sector will rank third with an expected value sales of Ptas25.5 billion in 1997 and Ptas36.1 billion in 2002. The desserts sector, the least dominant of the fast food market, is expected to retain its market share at 3.1% by end of 2002.

Sales of pizza through pizza fast food chains in Germany has increased from DM209 million in 1993 to DM535 million in 1997, an increase of around 156%. Though Pizza Hut dominates the local market in pizza sales, the pizza sector continues to be localized in nature, with various regional fast food pizza operators. To expand their consumer group, leading pizza delivery chains have initiated co-branding of their pizza products.
