An analysis of the textile washing product market in Germany, which covers detergents, softeners and related chemicals, revealed limited value growth between 1993 and 1997. The factors responsible for this were recession, price consciousness of consumers and price pressures. The largest sector was in detergents although the most valuable growth sector was in fabric softeners. A major decline was witnessed in the detergent sector. The study also revealed total market size, market sectors, market shares, company profiles, distribution and outlook for the industry.
