Deutsche Unilever GmbH is the third-biggest manufacturer in the German market for textile washing products, with a 13.7% share of the overall value sales in the market. The company was renamed as Home and Personal Care (HPC) Deutschland GmbH, following the merger of Lever GmbH with the former Elida Gibbs subsidiary of the Unilever group, in 1997. Deutsche Unilever GmbH offers several primary brands in the German textile washing products market, including the Coral detergent for delicate fabrics; Omo and Sunil brands of general purpose and color detergent; and the Kuschelweich fabric softener. The company reported a turnover of DM9,202 million in 1996, down from DM9,495 million in 1992.
