The Italian market for make-up & color cosmetics
Article Abstract:
Make-up and color cosmetics, which are made up of facial make-up, eye make-up, nail products and lip products, have always been important to Italians, who view image and look as highly important. However, the Italian market for make-up and color cosmetics has declined between 1992 and 1996. The decrease in demand for color cosmetics was primary attributed to the minimalist approach to make-up. The economic recession which peaked in 1993 also greatly influenced consumers to confine purchases only to essentials.
