The Polish market for snack foods, such as potato chips, extruded snacks, and mixed nuts, has grown by 307% in value terms and 70% in volume terms from 1992 to 1996. The growth in the snack food market can be attributed to Western influences and a 239% increase in average household income in the survey period. Lay's Chips of PepsiCo have a 31% share volume, Chio Chips are second at 24%, while Crunchips by Bahlsen have a 13% share.
