The Role of Weights and Scales in the Application of Multiobjective Decision Making
Article Abstract:
When applying multiobjective solution techniques, a preference structure of the decision maker toward certain objectives must be delineated. This is often done by fixing a set of weights to quantify the relative position of competing objectives. The more popular methods' employment of such weights is examined in light of getting the optimal compromise. The meaning of the weights in analysis is analyzed. Caution is advised for weight applications in these techniques. The implementation of two disparate techniques may cause different weight sets to adhere. The specifications of ranges or scales for the evaluation of goals can alter definitions. Compromise programming, multiattribute utility theory, ELECTRE and cooperative game theory are considered using a water resources problem. Tables of technique comparison data are included. Various computational parameters could cause different results to be had.

Integration of price-depending demand reactions in an optomising energy emission model for the development of CO2-mitigation strategies
Article Abstract:
Incorporation of price-depending demand approach to energy emissions models was undertaken to formulate and assess carbon dioxide (CO2)-mitigation strategies. Such act allows the inclusion of price-related changes in customer behavior on the study of emission mitigation strategies. It was shown that incorporation of price-depending demand approach leads to emission reduction costs that are lower compared to costs produced by a model without consumer price reaction consideration.
