The determination of the optimal component input numbers for the completion of a single manufacturing order
Article Abstract:
The order completion problem of determining the correct number of each part to be input into the manufacturing process to satisfy a customer order at minimum cost is considered. The problem also calls for optimizing the number of repetitions of the manufacturing process to prevent under- and over-production. To this end, a solution to the problem within a sequential process framework is derived along with a recursive procedure for solving the problem in a parallel, non-identical production environment.

Time restrictions in natural resource management: a dynamic and stochastic analysis
Article Abstract:
The study uses the theory of semi-Markov processes to demonstrate that when there is uncertainty about the evolution of the stock of a natural resource, the use of time restrictions can lead to the collapse of said resource. Also, an approach to natural resource management under uncertainty is presented, where time restrictions are used to maximize the likelihood that a particular resource will not collapse over time.
