Economic forecasters are expecting the American dollar to rise during 1992. Some expect it will not recover until the Federal Reserve cuts the discount even lower than the current 3.5%. The Japanese and German economies are also examined.

The recent group of Seven industrial countries meeting on the world economy produced very little action on currencies. No stimulus from Germany and Japan was agreed on, and the dollar remained at around 125 yen.
