Saudi Arabia may at last have ended diplomatic relations with Afghanistan, but it appears reluctant to support the US in hunting down Osama bin Laden. Many ordinary Saudis agree with bin Laden's criticism of Saudi links with the US. Saudi Arabia has also encouraged the growth of Islam abroad.
