The earth's hidden life: weird, perhaps, but quite wonderful too
Article Abstract:
Some are looking to space as the last frontier of exploration, but in fact many frontiers remains on earth. Strange creatures inhabit areas of the earth that are too cold, too hot, too dark, or simply too inaccessible for human beings. A survey of some of the creatures is presented.

ESA policymakers expect to terminate the Hermes space shuttle program at their Nov 1992 meeting. The Columbus manned space laboratory program is also in jeopardy. Some ESA officials hope to save the threatened programs with Russian assistance.
