The eye of the storm
Article Abstract:
Mahathir Mohamad has always been ready to voice his opinions about other world nations while, at the same time, ensuring that Malaysia continued to prosper and develop. However, Mohamad now says that Malaysia may review the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as it is outdated. He also indicated that Malaysia may not go to the Asia-Europe meeting because Burma has been barred and he also objects to the spread of Islam in Malaysia. Political analysts are wondering why he has persisted with these views because they seem likely to harm Malaysia's future development.
