The face of Mammon
Article Abstract:
Mark Mobius is a fund manager working for the mutual fund company, Templeton. he does not have a permanent residence, and has apartmnents in a number of locations, while living on an aircraft. He travels some 250 days annually and has exchanged his US passport for a German passport. He appears to use gut feeling as the main ingredient in his method. Criticisms that his form of capitalism is destabilizing are misguided, Mobius argues. He argues that human rights are important for stock markets, and this includes fairness and transparency.

Fishing for inefficiencies
Article Abstract:
Many fund managers have argued that investors who have chosen index funds would be hit in a market downturn, when knowledgeable fund managers can show a superior performance. It is difficult for fund managers to predict when a market downturn will ocur, and they may not attempt to do so, but rather focus on stock selection. Assuming that markets are not always efficient, managers believe that they can outperform markets and identify anomalies.
