The game goes on
Article Abstract:
Thai Foreign Minister Surin Pitsuwan has attracted considerable controversy by questioning the Association of South-East Asian Nations' (ASEAN) policy of non-intervention in the domestic affairs of member countries. He has stated that honest comments about ASEAN members need not be regarded as interference. Avoiding intervention has the positive effect of boosting trust among ASEAN members, but has also served to make ASEAN and its Regional Forum appear irrelevant.
