The homebug
Article Abstract:
Jean-Simeon Chardin was an 18th century French painter who has become popular and the subject of exhibitions. He worked alone, and his work was more sober than most painting of the time. His work bears some similarities to that of Braque in being rigorous, and he made a number of immaculate copies of his own works. His work has a timeless appeal. There is little knowledge of his private life, and he does not appear to have traveled. He died at the age of 80-years-old.
