The informational content of subordinated debt and equity prices in the presence of bankruptcy costs

Article Abstract:

A model valuing subordinated debts by including the bankruptcy costs associated therewith is presented. It is observed that the information from the subordinated debt prices is complimentary to the information from the equity prices when bankruptcy costs are taken into account.
