The knowledge business
Article Abstract:
Knowledge is a controversial issue when it comes to making a business from it, in the form of artificially intelligent computers or machines. In 1985, the Insight Masters Debate passed a resolution to make the mass production of new knowledge an industry in 1986. This resolution was opposed by Peter Sell of Digital Equipment Corporation on the basis that artificial intelligence and 'knowledge systems' have been greatly overrated. Those who favored the resolution see industrial applications as the first step for artificial intelligence, and commercial applications as the second step.

Artificial stupidity
Article Abstract:
Creating computers to be more like humans is not necessarily a good thing. To behave convincingly like a human, a computer must make mistakes. Instead of duplicating human intelligence, computer programmers should work to create a unique machine intelligence.
