The untapped potential of sport and recreation has become an issue of prime focus for government as a result of the bidding for international sporting event. The strategic re-orientation of sporting provision and its embedding within wider policy circles plays an important role in liveability and place-making agendas that would contribute to wider outcomes and to the shared priorities of public sector agencies.
