Patrick Ryan, 66 years old, the chairman and chief executive of the world's second largest insurance broker firm Chicago based Aon Corp. believes the increasing sophistication of markets and technology will only make brokers more important to their customers. His company Aon Corp. employs 54,000 people in 125 countries and last year in 2003 made a profit of $663 million and Ryan's own shareholding is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Currency trading results in huge returns to the knowledgeable and fortunate, but the movements of markets is the most unpredictable as there are fluctuations that are large and sudden. The private individuals often trade on margin that is they put only a relatively small amount of cash, borrowing money from their bank or broker to cover the remainder of their position.
