Perot will add unpredictability to the outcome of the presidential race, but his campaign has several flaws. Perot is false in claiming that he can reduce the deficit by eliminating 'fraud and abuse.' Supporters of Perot are wrong in believing that a businessman can serve effectively as a president.

Perot appealed to large number of voters because he made promises of governmental and economic reform that Democrats and Republicans were reluctant to make. Perot showed how a candidate could exploit television and run a campaign on a tight budget.
