The multi-location inventory centralization problem with first-come, first-served allocation
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the multi-location inventory centralization problem. Each location was depicted by a novel selling price and consequences of stockouts to accommodate market economic structure. Several assumptions correlating to inventory levels, purchasing costs and probability of events were considered. Results indicated that the problem can be correlated as a single location problem wherein the interarrival process does not need to be considered.
