The multiobjective equilibrium network design problem revisited: a simulated annealing approach
Article Abstract:
Simulated annealing and the 'weighting' method were used to generate the Pareto optimal set. The combination was shown to be effective in solving multiobjective equilibrium transportation network design problems. Solutions for an illustrative numerical example were shown to be easy to generate for each of the levels required. The use of the computationaly expensive simulated annealing technique was justified by the advent of large and fast computer processing systems.

Siting noxious facilities under uncertainty
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to develop a robust optimization model for the siting of noxious facilities under uncertainty. This model was applied to the Capital District of the State of New York. The structure presented in the research offers an alternative to development and after-the-fact analysis of deterministic planning models.
