The spoils of victory
Article Abstract:
New Prime Minister of Thailand Banharn Silpa-archa has announced his cabinet to widespread disappointment, though it does not include two particularly notorious members of his Chart Thai party. The seven-party coalition government is comprised largely of veteran politicians, though key members include Thaksin Shinawatra, overseeing efforts to fix Bangkok's traffic problems, and lawyer Surakiart Sathirathai, who to the concern of many will be finance minister, managing the country's complex financial liberalization.
