The stochastic vehicle routing problem revisited

Article Abstract:

The stochastic vehicle routing problem is analyzed by using a modified model in order to have a more realistic view. The model exhibits the structure of the time-dependent traveling salesman problem. The results show that in cases where the construction of a single route takes place before the actual deliveries, there will be a decrease in average cost. However, the research approach taken is still limited and must be the subject of future efforts.

Article Abstract:

The study on asymptotic value-to-capacity ratio for the multi-class stochastic knapsack problem revealed that it can be applied to multiple class models. Two growth models for the multi-class stochastic knapsack problem were presented. The convergence and the asymptotic value of the ratio of the knapsack value function to the capacity when the capacity increases was studied.
