Zetor receives aid from the state
Article Abstract:
Zetor (Brno, Czech Republic), tractor manufacturer, should re-start its tractor production in August 2000. Zetor will receive a credit of 700 mil Kc from the state bank Konsolidacni banka (KOB) (Czech Republic). KOB will grant the credit to Zetor through its subsidiary RA Traktor (Czech Republic) for the financing of production. The credit is the second help of the state after the unsuccessful revitalisation of Zetor in 1997, when the state supported the firm with 3 bil Kc. According to preliminary data, Zetor saw proceeds of only 1.4 bil Kc in 1999 compared to 5.4 bil Kc in 1998. Zetor expects a loss of about 1 bil Kc for 1999. The loss will increase considerably after the inclusion of rectifying items.
