Successful conferences are like good urban design with lots of informal spaces for human interchange producing the vitality between the set pieces, and then continuity of the places between the formal set building blocks. It was at the 10th anniversary conference of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales, in Cardiff, that entitled 'space-craft: the art of urban design'.

Motion to save PPG 7 romps home

The participants at the Architect's Journal Great Country House debate decided to save the country house clause. According to Melvin, one of the contributors to the audience, the English country house was an outmoded social form that should be consigned to history.
