Cor-Ten is becoming a legitimate material for sculptors, making the US museum conservators try to catch-up on preservation and maintenance techniques. The British sculptors were amused by the idea of needing to conserve this essentially found material, Cor-Ten, which was found more advantageous than ordinary steel.

The architects in UK are beginning to recognize the thin-bed masonry technique, which has become increasingly popular on the continent in both the commercial and housing sectors. It offers aesthetic and structural advantages, and gives the building an almost monolithic appearance.
