Article Abstract:
The UK merger and acquisition market has expanded dramatically since the mid-1980s in terms of both the volume and the value of the deals undertaken. In recent times, the boom in merger and acquisition deals has been partly attributable to the fact that privatised companies have been released from acquisitive restrictions. The market has also been fuelled by the rise in cross-border deals. Mergers and acquisitions are set to remain a significant strategic tool.
