Article Abstract:
The decision by the public prosecutor in Thailand to drop a civil charge against Krirk-kiat Jalichandra, former president of the Bangkok Bank of Commerce, has served to further reduce confidence in Thailand among overseas investors. The country's financial system is losing credibility as no action is taken against those responsible for a number of scandals. The financial community is also seriously concerned about the ability of the Thai government to handle the country's economy.

Article Abstract:
There are several aspects about Thailand's society that are deterrent to foreign investment including lack of government concern for bank security and law enforcement. Thai officials are aware of these problems and are taking steps to correct them but are conceding that change may be slow but gradual. Bank security and law enforcement are slack and this attribute is discouraging business enterprises from doing business in the country since government support is weak.
